What is Technical Assistance within Child Care Services?
The goal of Child Care Services’ Technical Assistance (TA) is to deliver foundational support to assist programs in achieving sustained compliance with licensing rules and regulations and to help them introduce best practices within their program.
Assisting both Child Care Learning Centers and Family Child Care Learning Homes, the TA Unit works with programs in any compliance category (Deficient, Support or Good Standing). Priority is given to programs that are in Deficient and Support status to help ensure health and safety needs are met for children. However, the TA Unit also works with programs who are in good standing by request and with new programs who are open less than one year, to help ensure ongoing foundational quality and introduction of best practices.
Utilizing coaching, mentoring, and training, Technical Assistance is customized to meet each individual program’s needs to facilitate sustainable quality enhancements that improve the daily experiences of children to best support their education and healthy growth and development. Technical Assistance is a voluntary, mutual partnership, typically requiring monthly onsite Technical Assistance visits and consistent progress toward program goals. For programs who are at risk of license revocation, Technical Assistance can also be required as part of a consent agreement process.
