The Relationship Based Professional Learning Team at the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) is pleased to offer the Early Learning Coach Designation program. The designation provides a standard by which educators and early learning programs can identify qualified individuals to support program improvement efforts. Research has shown that effective, focused coaching, coupled with relationship based professional development, leads to improved outcomes for educators and children.
The goals of the Early Learning Coach Designation program are to:
- Identify and recognize highly effective coaches in Georgia
- Increase availability of excellent professional learning opportunities for coaches
- Increase the number of coaches available to early educators statewide
Research shows that effective, focused coaching coupled with professional development leads to improved outcomes for educators and children. The Early Learning Coach Designation provides a standard by which educators can identify skilled, experienced individuals who can support program goals through effective coaching.
