Certification Training
Certification Training is an advanced PLC facilitator training designed for participants who have successfully completed the PLC Facilitator Institute. This blended learning experience deepens understanding of the key moves a facilitator makes when designing, facilitating, and following up on a PLC. Participants enhance their facilitation skills by leading a learning community and documenting their professional growth in a written journal. Upon completion, participants are fully prepared to facilitate learning communities in their professional settings.
Certification Training Includes:
- 3 days of face-to-face classroom instruction
- 5 virtual support sessions
- Participation in the afternoon Learning Showcase
- Comprehensive training materials
- 55 hours of DECAL-approved training hours upon successful completion
Participant Responsibilities:
- Attend all training sessions (face-to-face and virtual)
- Design and facilitate a PLC consisting of a minimum of three 90-minute sessions
- Complete the Learning Journal, a written document reflecting on what was learned while facilitating the PLC
- Cover personal expenses for meals, travel, and lodging (the course is offered at no charge)
Who is Eligible to Attend?
Certification Training is open to participants who have successfully completed the PLC Facilitator Institute and wish to further develop their skills and earn certification.
