INFANT TODDLER PROGRAM

− Providing targeted training and coaching for infant and toddler teachers
− Improving the quality of care for Georgia’s youngest learners

Young children learn and grow in the context of secure, trusting relationships with the adults who care for them. There is a short window of opportunity in early childhood to establish the bonds that will support children’s development throughout their lives.

DECAL’s Infant Toddler Specialists support child care providers in practicing relationship-based care that respects and responds to each child’s needs.

Who We Are
Infant Toddler Specialists are trained coaches and mentors who support infant and toddler teachers in strengthening and expanding practices that promote children’s development.

What We Do
  • Serve both center and family child care learning programs
  • Offer training opportunities for infant and toddler teachers and administrators
  • Provide targeted individualized coaching for infant and toddler teachers on building relationships and supporting children’s development
  • Provide resources and information about infant/toddler care and development
  • Offer grant opportunities
  • Create activities for Toddler Time at Home and in the Classroom
