Market Demand
Georgia’s Pre-K Program is a voluntary, universal program established in 1993 to provide the state’s four-year-old children with high quality preschool experiences. Currently, nearly 58% of Georgia’s four year olds are served in this nationally recognized program. During the 2012-2013 school year, approximately 84,000 children will be served in every county in the state.
The percentage of children being served in Georgia’s Pre-K Program is determined by market demand – which is our ability to meet quality capacity balanced with parent demand within a geographic area. Participation in Georgia’s Pre-K program is strictly voluntary recognizing that the needs and desires of parents and children may vary.
We strive to provide every Georgia Pre-K child with a quality classroom experience based on standards, curriculum, environment, and teacher training. Access to Georgia’s Pre-K Program is also crucial, and we are working diligently to ensure that every parent who chooses to enroll his or her child in Georgia’s Pre-K Program has access to the program.
