COVID-19 Relief Funding

DECAL has received COVID-19 relief funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act.

This document details DECAL’s spending plan with updates on previous, ongoing, and planned projects using the funds: DECAL’s COVID-19 Relief Funding Spending Summary

In September 2021, DECAL contracted with the Urban Institute to conduct stakeholder engagement with Georgia families, child care providers, the early care and education (ECE) workforce, DECAL staff, and other stakeholder groups about supports Georgia’s ECE system needed. DECAL used the results to inform how CRRSA and ARP funds should be allocated. The Urban Institute hosted a webinar with DECAL on June 29, 2022 sharing stakeholder engagement findings and updates on DECAL’s plan to use remaining COVID-19 relief funding. Report and webinar materials can be accessed on the Urban Institute’s website via the following links:
